BREEDING INFORMATION
Nearly every Vesper has the ability to breed and have pups. Unfortunately a mysterious virus plagues Vespers at birth, causing high mortality rates. Because of this, puppies that survive their first days are protected at all costs, and are normally raised by their parents along with help from the community. It is normal for Vespers to give gifts and support to new parents, and it's superstition that visiting puppies and wishing them good health can increase the odds of their survival!
TRIALS OF YOUTH (ToY)
Vespers must go through a series of trials before being able to breed. These trials are called The Trials of Youth, often abbreviated as ToY. The Trials of Youth are currently the only requirement to be able to breed.
Information on the Trials of Youth can be found here.
VIRUS
Sadly, all Vespers are plagued by a Virus that causes pups to be stillborn at birth.
This Virus, normally, has a 50% chance of killing a pup in a litter.
Thankfully there are ways to reduce the mortality rate.
+ Vaccine Booster: Lowers the chance of the Virus killing pups to 20%. Can be purchased in The Apothecary. (-30% Virus)
+ Career Track: Finishing a career track lowers the chance of the Virus killing pups. (-5% Virus)
+ Classes: Each class advancement increases resistance against the Virus by 5%, and this can stack up to -20% virus if a Vesper has maxed out their class.
+ Crimson Spool: Allows for one same-sex breeding and lowers the chance of the Virus killing pups. Can be purchased in the Apothecary. (-5% Virus)
INBREEDING
Inbreeding, while allowed, is greatly looked down upon. Inbreeding is only considered when the parents have relatives in the current existing lineage. If a Vesper is related to another, but it doesn't show on their import lineage, it will not be considered for inbreeding.

The penalties are as follows.
Stillborn: The pup did not make it. (80% Chance)
Sterile: The pup will not be able to have children at adulthood. (80% Chance)
Blind: The pup is born unable to see, or was born without eyes. (-10 Luck Penalty) (80% Chance)
Deaf: The pup is born deaf. (-10 Luck Penalty) (80% Chance)
Dystonia: The pup is born with twisted legs and possible neurological damage. (-50 Stamina Penalty) (60% Chance)
Hemophilia: The pup bruises and bleeds easily. (-50 Health Penalty) (+30% Damage Penalty) (60% Chance)

NOTE: Inbreeding Penalties MAY be applied to a Vesper for character reasons (except for Stillborn for...obvious reasons). Blindness is the ONLY penalty that may be applied WITHOUT the ill-effects, and may be demonstrated with a pupil lighter than the eye color. All other applied penalties will have their detrimental effects applied to the Vesper's Import.
BONDING
If two Vespers are bonded, the odds of their genes passing on to their offspring (when bred together) go up by 5%.
Bonding Information can be found here.

BREEDING PERMISSIONS
You will need to give permission to others to use your Vespers in breedings. To give permission for a breeding, you must first go to your Vesper's import and fill out the required information in the Breeding Logs area on the import. Reply to the comment that has the Permissions Form (shown below!) In order to use another player's Vesper for a breeding, you need to use one of these comments as proof.
BREEDING TYPES
Full Slot Breedings: Full slots are when you, the player, own a permission to breed BOTH Vespers involved in the breeding. The offspring are yours to give away, sell, trade, etc., as you wish. You get (3) of these breedings every month.
Split Breedings: Split slots are when you, the player, own a permission to breed ONE of the Vespers involved in the breeding, and you collaborate with a second player who owns a second permission to a Vesper to get an entire breeding. You and Player B decide among yourselves what to do with the resulting offspring. It only counts as a Split for the player who posts it. You get (2) of these breedings every month.
Breeding Rights refer to either self-owned Vespers or a valid Breeding Slot Permission. If you, the player, submit a Breeding where you own neither Vespers but simply have a Permission Slot written to you by the owner of the Vesper, it still counts as a full breeding. Regardless of what you do with the offspring from the breeding, it still counts as a full slot.
SUBMIT A BREEDING REQUEST
When your Vesper meets all the requirements, you can submit a breeding!
